President/Founder/Head Broker

Pete has an extensive, diverse portfolio of entrepreneurial experience in the southeast, including ownership and management of three steel heat treating facilities.

He also was the founding principal of Porta-Nails, a leading manufacturer of floor nailing equipment.

Pete owned and operated Cape Fear River Wood which salvaged sunken logs originally harvested in the 1700 and 1800s, processing them into architectural timber beams and heart pine flooring. In so doing, he was featured in Southern Living Magazine.

He is a noted real estate developer, having created and marketed several residential subdivisions/ industrial sites in the local area. Pete is an active licensed real estate broker.

A Rotarian for over 37 years, Pete has consistently “given back” to his community, having served as Wilmington City Planning Board, Chairman of the New Hanover County Board of Adjustments as well as being a long-time member of the Foundation Board for Cape Fear Community College.

Pete and wife, Terry, have been residents of Wilmington for the past 34 years.

Chantay Allen

Broker Associate

Chantay Allen is a native of Southern California and has a diverse business background and education in the social sciences, along with a business acumen and ability to speak Spanish. She has more than a decade of experience in the health and fitness industry, where she has managed four corporate nutrition supplement stores in two different states, established her own clientele as a fitness instructor, owned and operated a local nutrition store franchise, and developed her own brand as a health and fitness professional. Eight years of combined retail management experience in North Carolina and California has earned Chantay a broad perspective and developed her expertise in product information, customer service, employee training, marketing, sales, retail operations, inventory control, budgeting, merchandising, state labor laws, and knowledge of corporate-to-franchise relations. Chantay also has direct selling experience in the health, beauty, and pre-paid legal services industry. As a former Inside Sales Representative for a Consumer Products line at a minority-owned small business in California, Chantay raised the bar by setting a new sales quota. Chantay’s consumer products work experience with factories in Hong Kong and Shenzhen, China, increased her commitment to think globally and act locally.

As a Broker Associate of New South Business Brokers, Chantay has sold an assortment of established restaurant, retail, salon, and advertising businesses. She has the ability to relate to sellers and buyers since she has been through the process of buying a business and has experience as a local business owner. Chantay is involved with the arts community and is in her seventh year serving on the Cape Fear River Watch Board of Directors. The Atlantic coast region has become a special place for Chantay to live and help a great variety of local businesses in the Southeast thrive.
